This evidence supports advocacy and initiatives that improve equity and outcomes for those most affected by disparities.

Youth Challenges, Health, Education, Housing and Businesses. Plans are now in place in all five areas, including a five-year Somali student success plan, a business integrity plan and a five-year housing plan.

MMR Vaccination Gap
MMR vaccination among Somali Minnesotan 2-year-olds fell from 92% in 2004 to about 24% in early 2026. To stop outbreaks, epidemiolgists said that we need about 95% of MMR vaccination rates (Sahan Journal; MPR News).
